Undergraduate Chemistry Awards
The Department of Chemistry makes awards for outstanding performance in chemistry course at all levels of the undergraduate program. Currently awards include:
- American Chemical Society (ACS) Undergraduate Award in Analytical Chemistry - Awarded to a rising senior chemistry major student demonstrating a research interest in analytical chemistry and the best performance in analytical chemistry course material in the Chem 350 course sequence.
- Basolo-Osper Award for Departmental Citizenship - Cash prize awarded to a graduating chemistry major student who has demonstrated both outstanding academic performance and a dedication to service in the chemistry community.
- Chemistry Department Scholar Award - Cash prize awarded to graduating chemistry majors students who have demonstrated both outstanding academic performance and outstanding performance in a research laboratory.
- CLP Lambert Fellows Program - The CLP Lambert Fellows Program is designed to provide multi-year funding for hands-on laboratory research for rising sophomores and juniors majoring in Chemistry under the mentorship of CLP faculty members.
- CRC Freshman Chemistry Award - Copy of the CRC Handbook awarded to the top student in general chemistry.
- Hypercube Scholar Award - Software prize awarded to a graduating senior chemistry major student who has performed outstanding work in the area of theoretical chemistry.
- Lewis H. Sarrett Scholarship Award - Scholarship awarded to one of the two best rising senior students in the chemistry major program.
- Marple-Schweitzer Memorial Award - Cash prize awarded to the graduating chemistry major student who has demonstrated the top combination of academic and research performance.
- Merck Index Award - Copy of the Merck Index awarded to the top student in 200-level organic chemistry courses
- Physical Chemistry Award - Cash prize awarded to the top student in the 300-level physical chemistry courses
- R.K. Summerbell Memorial Fund Scholarship Award - Scholarship awarded to one of the two best rising senior students in the chemistry major program.
