Industry Recruitment

Northwestern provides a rigorous and interdisciplinary chemical sciences education in a challenging environment, producing researchers of the highest quality. Many of our graduates go on to highly productive and successful careers in chemical and chemistry-related industries.

Industrial Associates:
Industrial Associates (IA) is an annual program that introduces students to careers in industry and facilitates your organization’s recruiting efforts by identifying students at various points in their careers. Both students and industry representatives benefit from the high level of interaction and relationship building at IA. Events include roundtable discussions, panels, research poster sessions and informal networking.

Industrial Associates will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2015 on the Evanston campus. Please contact Michelle Obuhanich if your organization is interested in participating.

Resume book:
Each year, the Department of Chemistry compiles a resume book. The book includes resumes from Ph.D. students and postdoctoral fellows who are within one year of completing their studies in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Materials Science. Please contact Michelle Obuhanich if you would like access to the resume book.

Recruitment program:
We welcome companies to visit campus in the fall (or anytime throughout the year) to participate in our recruitment program and interview candidates featured in the resume book. We can provide space for large group information sessions as well as offices for one-on-one interviews. Fall recruitment typically begins at the end of September and continues through mid-November. If you’re interested in our recruitment program, please contact Gerri Pipersburgh and we will schedule your visit.

University Career Services (UCS):
If your company has additional recruitment and hiring needs (e.g. entry level positions for graduating seniors or internships for undergraduates), please contact Alice Harra,  Director of Employer Recruiting & Engagement at University Career Services
